Adnan Jaffar

Adnan Jaffar is a Karachi actor who reached the screen by way of journalism and the stage. He studied at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) and at Arizona State University, graduated in mass communication, and worked for a time as a broadcast journalist for Dawn News.

At NAPA, Khalid Ahmed was his voice teacher. His stage breakthrough was in Oedipus Rex, directed by Zia Mohyeddin. He moved into television in 2012 and is known for Coke Kahani (2012), Behadd (2013), Jackson Heights (2014), Jo Bichar Gaye (2021–2022) and Hum Tum (2022). His film work started in 2015 with Jalaibee, Manto and Moor, then Jeewan Hathi (2016), Chupan Chupai and Parwaaz Hay Junoon (both 2017) and Project Ghazi (2018).

He is one of the busiest supporting actors of 2026, with two serials on air on this guide at once: Bano and Dar-e-Nijaat.

His route into acting is unusual: a mass-communication degree, newsroom work at Dawn News and classical stage training at NAPA all came before his first television role. The stage training still shows in the material he chooses. Manto and Moor, both 2015 releases, are among the most discussed Pakistani films of that decade, and Jackson Heights placed him in an ensemble set among Pakistani immigrants in New York.

Bano (2026) on air now on Geo Entertainment. Adnan Jaffar is in the cast; the serial is written by Atiq Inayat and directed by Furqan Adam. Also in the cast: Hina Tariq, Haris Waheed and Aqeel Yousaf.

Dar-e-Nijaat (2026) on air now on ARY Digital. Adnan Jaffar is in the cast; the serial is written by Umera Ahmed. Also in the cast: Durefishan Saleem, Nameer Khan and Sheheryar Munawar.
