Ahmed Ali Akbar
Actor
Ahmed Ali Akbar is an actor who works mainly in Urdu television, and the title role in Parizaad (2021) made him one of its best-known faces. He grew up in Rawalpindi, the son of tennis coach Muhammad Ali Akbar, and his brother Abid Ali Akbar is a tennis player. He has said he played tennis at national level and played club cricket and football before choosing entertainment.
His screen story started early. He appeared at the age of thirteen in PTV's drama Stop Watch in 1999, then spent about ten years singing with the Islamabad progressive rock band Nafs before returning to acting. He guest-starred in the drama film Siyaah (2013) and began acting professionally in 2014. Yeh Raha Dil (2017) and the ensemble military drama Ehd-e-Wafa (2019) built his profile.
Parizaad, from Hum TV, turned that profile into stardom. He played the title character, a poor and overlooked man whose life the story follows from rejection to success. The role won him several awards, including the Hum Award for Best Actor (Popular). Both Parizaad and Ehd-e-Wafa have full pages on this guide.
