Hrithik Roshan

Actor and producer

Hrithik Roshan is an actor and producer in Hindi cinema, known for his dancing and for working across genres. He was born Hritik Rakesh Nagrath in Bombay into the Roshan film family and has often worked with his father, Rakesh Roshan. He appeared briefly as a child actor in the 1980s and worked as an assistant director on four of his father's films before his first lead.

That lead was Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000), a box-office success that won him several awards. Fiza (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) built on it. After some poorly received films, the science-fiction film Koi... Mil Gaya (2003) turned his career around and won him two Filmfare Awards. Its sequels, Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2013), made him a superhero. He has played an army officer in Lakshya, a thief in Dhoom 2, the emperor Akbar in Jodhaa Akbar and a quadriplegic in Guzaarish.

His later hits include Agneepath (2012), Super 30 (2019) and three films directed by Siddharth Anand: Bang Bang! (2014), War (2019) and Fighter (2024). He has won six Filmfare Awards, four of them for Best Actor. On this guide he appears in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
