Jaideep Ahlawat is an actor in Hindi films and web series. He was born in Kharkara, a village in the Rohtak district of Haryana. He earned an MA in English from Maharshi Dayanand University in 2005 and then trained at the Film and Television Institute of India, starting in 2008.

After a run of small parts, Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) changed his career. Supporting roles followed in Commando: A One Man Army (2013), Gabbar Is Back (2015), Raees (2017), Raazi (2018) and Vishwaroopam II (2018). His big streaming success was the police officer Hathi Ram Chaudhary in Paatal Lok (2020), which won him the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series. He has won three Filmfare OTT Awards in all.

He is having a strong 2026 in cinemas. On this guide he plays SP Rajveer Singh Tomar in Drishyam: The Conclusion, which is in theatres, and he is in the cast of Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam, which is also in theatres.

He first wanted to be an army officer, but after failing his SSB interviews several times he turned to acting, doing theatre across Punjab and Haryana. At FTII his batchmates included Rajkummar Rao, Vijay Varma and Sunny Hinduja. His film debut was a negative role in Priyadarshan's Khatta Meetha (2010).
