Nadia Afgan

Nadia Afgan, also written Afghan, is an actress in Urdu and Punjabi television, theatre and film. She was born in Karachi, the eldest of four children of Naila Afghan and Tanvir Afghan, a retired Group Captain in the Pakistan Air Force. Her family moved with her father's postings. Her father's work made her want to be a fighter pilot, but that path was closed to women at the time.

She started at PTV's Lahore centre, hosting talk shows and late-night transmissions before acting full time. The sitcom Family Front (1997) brought her prominence. PTV Home's Shashlik (2000) is one of the best-remembered comedies of its era, and Geo re-aired it in 2011. A new audience met her as Shahana Batool in Hum TV's comedy Suno Chanda (2018) and its sequel Suno Chanda 2 (2019).
