Shahood Alvi

Shahood Alvi is an actor and director from Multan who learned television from the sound department up. He started at PTV in 1997 as a boom operator, assisting the sound mixer, before he moved in front of the camera. He has also directed: the drama Chipkali (2003) is his.

He comes from a television family. His uncle is the director and producer Iqbal Ansari, and one of his three daughters is the actress Areeba Alvi.

Few actors can show how strongly a villain role can land. After his negative part in the serial Bol Meri Machli, he was confronted at Karachi University in March 2010 by students who threw eggs and shoes. Daily Nai Baat reported that he tried to explain that the character had nothing to do with his own life. It is an extreme example of how closely Pakistani audiences follow their dramas. In 2026 he is in two serials on this guide: Gulbahar, which is on air, and Kaisa Yeh Ishq, where he plays Ehsan.

He has played many villains, and some of those roles have made him one of the most recognisable supporting actors on Pakistani television.
