Filmmaker and producer

Siddharth Anand is a Hindi filmmaker who moved from romantic comedies to big action films. He is the grandson of the screenwriter Inder Raj Anand and the son of Bittu Anand, who produced Shahenshah (1988). The actor-director Tinnu Anand is his uncle.

He started as an assistant to Kunal Kohli on Mujhse Dosti Karoge (2002), then directed the romantic comedies Salaam Namaste (2005), Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007), Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) and Anjaana Anjaani (2010). His turn to action began with Bang Bang! (2014) and continued with War (2019) and Pathaan (2023), which are among the highest-grossing Hindi films. In 2021 he started his production company, Marflix Pictures, and its first release was the aerial action film Fighter (2024).

Salaam Namaste, produced by Yash Raj Films with Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta, was his debut and a commercial success. Bang Bang!, with Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif, was a remake of the American film Knight and Day and the fourth-highest grosser of its year.
