Shraddha Kapoor

Actress and singer

Shraddha Kapoor is a Hindi film actress and the daughter of the actor Shakti Kapoor. She is one of India's highest-paid actresses. She has appeared on Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list since 2014, and Forbes Asia put her on its 30 Under 30 list in 2016. She was born and raised in Mumbai.

Her start was slow. A brief role in the heist film Teen Patti (2010) brought a Filmfare Best Female Debut nomination, and her first lead, Luv Ka The End (2011), did not build on it. Mohit Suri's musical romance Aashiqui 2 (2013) was her breakthrough and earned a Best Actress nomination. Vishal Bhardwaj cast her as the Ophelia figure in Haider (2014). Ek Villain (2014), ABCD 2 (2015) and Baaghi (2016) made her a star.

After some weaker releases she returned to form with Chhichhore and Saaho (both 2019), Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (2023), and the horror comedies Stree (2018) and Stree 2 (2024). Stree 2 is her highest-grossing film and brought her second Best Actress nomination. She has also sung several songs in her films. On this guide she appears in Haider and Stree 2, and in the upcoming Eetha.
