The story
Dastaan follows Bano, a Muslim girl in a Hindu household’s neighbourhood in the last years of British India, through Partition. The love story with Hassan is the start. The serial is really about what a border does to a body, a house and a promise.
Based on Razia Butt’s novel Bano. Sanam Baloch plays Bano. Fawad Khan plays Hassan. It aired on HUM and is still the Partition serial Urdu television is measured against. The violence in it is the point, not a side plot.
