Kashaf, from a stretched Karachi household run by her mother, and Zaroon, from a rich and argumentative one, collide at university and again in an arranged marriage. Umera Ahmed’s serial is still the one viewers quote when they talk about class, ego and a heroine who will not shrink.
It ran from 30 November 2012 to 24 May 2013.

The story
Kashaf Murtaza is the eldest daughter of a mother who was left to raise three girls on a teacher’s salary. She is brilliant, suspicious of men, and does not perform charm for anyone. Zaroon Junaid is the son of a rich, quarrelling Karachi house. He talks about modern women and still expects one to arrange her life around him.
They meet at university and dislike each other. The families later tie them into a marriage that neither planned. Umera Ahmed wrote it. Sultana Siddiqui directed it for HUM, from 30 November 2012 to 24 May 2013. Sanam Saeed and Fawad Khan play the couple. The argument of the serial is class and ego, not a misunderstanding that one apology can fix.
