The story
Khirad grows up in Hyderabad with her father, Baseerat. When he dies, her rich aunt Fareeda is pushed into a duty marriage: Fareeda’s son Ashar, a Karachi architect, marries Khirad. The house never treats her as family. Sara, who wanted Ashar for herself, helps build the lie that drives Khirad out, including after a daughter, Hareem, is born.
The serial is the one people still mean by the Urdu-drama boom. Farhat Ishtiaq wrote it from her own novel. Sarmad Sultan Khoosat directed. Momina Duraid produced it for HUM. The original run is 23 episodes, from 24 September 2011. The song people attach to it is Quratulain Balouch’s “Woh Humsafar Tha”.
Mahira Khan’s Khirad and Fawad Khan’s Ashar are the pairing later Hindi and Urdu covers kept copying. Naveen Waqar plays Sara. Atiqa Odho plays Fareeda. Hina Khawaja Bayat and Behroze Sabzwari are in the family around them. ShowBuzz is not reprinting a fake week-by-week script. The shape above is the novel’s, which the serial follows.
